Description
Get a Jump on Holiday Shopping Here's another collectible from Buck Knives that would make a great gift for the hunter, collector, or knife enthusiast in your family!   **Up for Auction** Something Special! An Absolutely Beautiful, Rare 2nd Version ('66) Model 110 Folding Hunter Hard Fiber Spacer Model with Original Leather Sheath   Early 1966 Buck Model 110 Folding Hunter. Calling it a 2nd Version, 1st Variation. 3-3/4" clip point satin finished 440C blade Blade horizontal stamped (parallel to spine) "BUCK". Small nail nick. Hard fiber spacer Spring inserted into rocker Butt rivets integral to right side of frame No sign of separate blade rivet 2 brass inlay rivets and brass rocker rivet. OAL 8-5/8" Knife came to me tarnished, with slight handling/storage marks on bolsters. Blade had a few light scratches, but was full right to the tip, and looked like it had been handled more than really used. I cleaned the bolsters, and then sent the knife to Buck, and had them buff/sharpen the blade. Work Order/receipt confirmed knife as "Early 1966". Ebony inlays have nice color and graining Right side inlay has a fine/tight (little over an inch long) split at rocker rivet (see photo). Does not extend to edge, and wood is stable. Left side has a much smaller (3/8") tight split at the surface. Buck said that, in terms of value, it was best left alone. Locks up tight as a vault, with wicked hard snap. I would call it little used. Definitely a highly desirable, hard-to-find collectible. Beautiful piece. Pictures tell the story. Knife comes with original Buck leather sheath. All stitching, snap intact. Very little sign of wear. Sheath is much smaller than later versions (see photos for comparison). Please contact me with any questions before bidding.
