It is in very good condition with the exception of a couple of tiny nicks around the gold colored thimble head at the top of the ball. When the thimble is pushed in, the bottom canister which contains a wooden spool of thread pops out. There is a cap on the spool which opens to store the needles. The ball has a wonderful swirled paint job and is made of wood.
