*Please read full description before placing your bid* **** Fada #115 LAPIS Blue With Butterscotch Catalin Tube Radio**** I am pleased to offer a lovely Pre-War Fada model # 115 marbleized lapis Blue with Butterscotch Catalin Tube Radio made circa 1940. This beautiful, working radio displays extremely well and plays as well also all across the dial. This example displays its marbelization wonderfully having been professionally refinished entirely by hand with no machine sanding. Blue is by far the most elusive color in this popular series. The butterscotch bezel, drop handle, and chunky gumdrop knobs are all factory original with no damage. The clear dial lense is a perfect replacement. John Sideli calls this radio "Truly a classic! MAKE- Fada MODEL- #115 YEAR- 1940 CASE MATERIAL- Catalin, the Gem of Plastics SIZE- 10 3/4” W x 6” H x 5 3/8” D CONDITION- This radio is in great condition having no cracks, chips, dings, nicks, major scratches, or hairlines now or in the past. The only blemish to mention is a mild heat mark on the left side as shown in the pics. This is a natural flaw commonly occurring from normal everyday use. I have hand refinished this radio to a wonderful gleam to display the true marbleization expertly. The radio retains it's original butterscotch trim and cardboard back. The paper and foil dial face is nice and bright but is missing its little arms that hold the center section in place behind the factory original dial pointer. No machine sanding on this beauty! The radio is very clean inside and out. This radio only needs to be displayed, played, and enjoyed! The radio has a mild tube burn on the top left (as shown in pictures). CHASSIS/PLAYING CONDITION-The chassis is clean, complete, and I was able to pick up 3-4 stations that were very clear. As a reminder, these vintage radios are not meant for everyday use, nor should they be played for extended periods of time. As with any electronic device (especially one that is 60 years old!)
