Description
Dear fellow sci-fi collectors, I am putting up for auction one of my most prized collectibles: a screen-used prop weapon. This is a Klingon Dk'Tahg. It was used in all Klingon fight scenes seen in episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. You will also receive a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Dennis Madalone, who served as stunt coordinator for all seven years of ST:TNG, as well as Deep Space Nine and Voyager. I was a regular stuntman and Starfleet crew member on the latter two shows -- you will be buying a Star Trek prop from someone who was actually on a Star Trek show! I am one of the hundreds of sci-fi collectors whose heart goes out to one of our sci-fi icons. Last week, Bob May, who many of you know as the man inside the B-9 Robot from the 1960's television show, Lost in Space, lost everything he owned in the Sylmar fire here in Southern California. Not only did he lose his home, but as a fellow collector, he lost his own beloved Lost in Space Robot and his own irreplaceable memorabilia, collected over the past 40 years. (See the story: http://www.pr-inside.com/may-s-home-claimed-by-fire-r927765.htm) Bob had always been a personal hero of mine since watching Lost in Space, and after getting to know him through the various sci-fi conventions we appeared at together, I have come to know him as a kind, wonderful human being, and a great friend. 100% of the proceeds from this auction will go directly to Bob to help him rebuild after this tragedy. I am starting this auction at $1.00 with a small reserve and no Buy It Now price, to give everyone a chance to bid. I know that you'll all want to help me raise as much as I can for Bob May, the man who gave life to the B-9 Robot, because to lose your home and everything that you collected throughout your whole life "Does not compute!"On Nov-24-08 at 12:02:20 PST, seller added the following information: I just spoke with Dennis Madalone today and as an added bonus the C.O.A will be personally endorsed to you and there will be a pic of him holding the exact Klingon weapon you won! How is that for authenticity! I was also told by him that I will be getting 10 original scripts from all three shows he worked on! Next Gen, Deep Space, and Voyager! Those will be on Ebay as of this Saturday November 29th! On Nov-24-08 at 18:16:41 PST, seller added the following information:I just copied and pasted this off Bob May's website which is www.robot-b9.com As many of you may know there was yet another set of devastating fires in the Los Angeles area this past week. Unfortunately, our robot, Bob May, was a resident of the area that was destroyed.Although he and his wife made it out of there in time, their house and all it's contents were completely destroyed. They had extremely little notice, barely an hour in which to grab what they could, and evacuate. Bob and his wife grabbed a few family items and made it out with only the clothes thay had on their backs, and the shoes on their feet. Currently, they are living with their daughter, until other arrangements can be made. If anyone would like to send them notes of encouragement, or anything else, please contact me, and I will forward it to them. Thank You all. webmaster@robot-b9.comOn Nov-25-08 at 15:05:10 PST, seller added the following information:I just my to close my ad by thanking each and every one of you who even took the time to check this ad out. For the people who are bidding on this, the whole Star Trek community thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. I was very blessed to be a part of three Star Trek series and the cast and crew will always be a part of my extended family. A very special thanks to Dennis Madalone and Alec Peters who backed me up 100 percent on this project! Alec has two amazing websites for Star Trek fans! www.trekspace.org and www.startrekauction.blogspot.com With the holidays right around the corner, this is a great opportunity to help someone we all grew up with. I remember as a little boy how excited I was when I saw the "Robot" on "Lost in Space." When I finally met Bob May in 1998 at a convention we were doing together, I said... "I waited over 30 years to do this"... and gave him a big hug! I told him that he was responsible for my love of Sci Fi and that when I was little, I made a wish to be working on a sci fi tv show! "My dream came true" When I do give Bob the proceeds from this auction I would be more then happy to email you a picture of it. You can email me from my website at www.stephenpisani.net May your holidays be the best and thank you again for helping..... Steve On Nov-25-08 at 23:02:46 PST, seller added the following information:Please take a look at this video! It is less than a minute and I think you will really enjoy it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZJT0ZOd_ZY&feature=relatedOn Nov-28-08 at 11:12:24 PST, seller added the following information: Q: hi for those who cant afford to bid in there hundreds would it be possible for fans to make donations to a bob may fund ?? i loved lost in space and would like to think sci fi fans all over the world would make a donation. if theres not a fund set up perhaps you can give an address so we can post donations. kind regards michael earp,,england A: Hi Michael, Wow, all the way from England? Bob really does have some great fans. :) Thank you for caring so much! This is about the 20th e-mail I've gotten asking how people can contribute outside of the auction. So, I'm posting this information for everyone... I have set up an e-mail address where people can send donations through PayPal. It is: bobmayfund@stephenpisani.net If you'd prefer to mail a donation, please e-mail me at spisani@msn.com, and I will give you my business address to use. Donations will be collected through January 1, 2009. When the money for the auction and donations are collected for Bob, it will go from my hand to his! I am making sure he is getting 100% of the money. Thanks again, everyone who is watching this auction and is concerned for Bob and his family. In tough economic times, like now, your generosity is appreciated even more!
