It was publish by OGPU State Publishing House of armoured Command courses RKKA named comrade Bubnov A.S. in 1930, for a personally use only, as a sensitive documents.At the title-page you can see inscription in thick print : "OFF-THE-RECORD!" and hand stamped serial number 369. The book was made in limited edition only 1500 pieces - it's mentioned in the book. This example was privat one of the WW2 front-line General of armoured troops RADKEVICH NIKOLAY NIKOLAEVICH and the book has been signed by him you can see it on the photos below - or ask me for additional photos if need. It's maybe the last example of this book as it was printed in OGPU Publishing House and was annihilated by close control of OGPU. This example has been found in the summer residence of the General Radkevich after his death. He was born on February, 22 1904 - in RKKA from October,15 1920, died on June, 04 1985. The T-18 light tank (also called MS-1, Russian: Maliy Soprovozhdeniya-Perviy, 'First Small Support Vehicle') was the first Soviet-designed tank, produced in 1928–31. It was based on the Renault FT-17, with the addition of a vertically-sprung suspension. Is created from T-16 in the spring 1927. The body of the tank was lengthened, in it chassis was added one road wheel from each side, the tank has received the improved engine of the second sample and new springs. Manufacturing the reference tank was completed in May 1927 Governmental tests passed near Moscow, in region st..Nemchinovka on June 11-17, 1927 and were finished successfully. The tank was accepted on service under the name "Small tank of support sample 1927. MS-1 (T-18)". Serial production of the tank was begun on February 1, 1928 on a factory «Bolshevik ». A Company of tanks T-18 (9 machines) has accepted participation in battle actions on KVZD in November 1929. In 1929-30 tank was subjected to partial modernization. In 1929 tank T-18 was modified. The task was increase speed of a movement of the tank, to strengthen arms and to reduce the price. Into the tank have established the new engine by capacity of 40 hp and 4-th Gearbox. A new drive sprocketl and tracks as "Eagle talon" were added. Was planned to establish in the tank new 37-mm a gun with long barrel and radiostation. For this purpose on the tank have put a new tower. But the gun was not ready in time and on the tank there was the former arms. The radiostations were made, but they did not manage to be placed on the place. Tests of modernized T-18 have shown, that its speed has not reached planned size. But the tank was accepted on a service under an index " Light infantry tank MS-1 (T-18) sample 1930» The tank was in mass production on a factory "Bolshevik" and "Motovilikha- Machine-building factory" up to the end 1931. On a service of RKKA MS-1 was in some divisions up to 1938. Then by the order of Narkom of Defence all tanks were handed over on warehouses. Some of tanks T-18 have accepted participation in battles of the Second World War in 1941-42. There aren't any library markings on this one only the ink stamped serial number of the book which is 369 and two signs of General Radkevich.
