20th Century, bronze maquette study for the 9 foot tall statue of Lord Louis Mountbatten, Earl Mountbatten, Viceroy of Burma; erected in Grosvenor Square, Southampton, Great Britain.  Created and signed by artist: Greta Berlin.  Commissioned. 1989.   Nicely patinated bronze on a contemporary marble base.  Signed and numbered on the rear leg:  Study 7  #1/3   Greta Berlin.   Other maquettes for this statue are recorded in the collections of: Patricia, 2nd Countess Mountbatten. Lady Pamela Hicks, Lord Romsey, and the Southampton City Council.  This example descends from the estate of Brigadier-General Sir Douglas Fredrick Rawdon Dawson.   Height of the maquette: 24 1/2 inches tall.   Approximately 9 inches across, and stands on a marble/terrazzo base.   Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas George Mountbatten, First Earl Mountbatten, KG, GCB, OM, GCVO, DSO, PC. (25 June, 1900 - 27 August, 1979).
