Description
Remington UMC Locking Fishing Barlow – model 1630 - Smooth Bone Handles, exc condition Bone handled lockback knife with fish scaler on back of blade. Knife is in used but excellent condition. The blade and bolsters are lightly pitted and have a patina, but the blade appears full and locks up tight. Knife opens and closes well, with no wobble at all when locked open. The blade tang is stamped "Remington over UMC" in a circle with “made in USA” outside of the circle. I believe this is an early 1930’s tang stamp. The model number “1630” is stamped on the back tang. Both bolsters have “Remington” in script stamped on them. This knife has steel bolsters and liners. There is a wood (probably ebony) spacer in the end opposite the bolsters. The spacer is in excellent condition. The handles are both intact, but each has small chips on the end. One side has very tight pin cracks at each of the two rear pins and the other side has one pin crack – all are very tight and don’t detract much from the knife’s appearance (see pics). Because of the age, the fullness of the blade and the excellent mechanical operation of the blade and lock I would say this knife is in excellent condition. I prefer PayPal but I accept checks – I’ll wait for personal checks to clear. Shipping is $8 including insurance via priority mail. Please feel free to ask questions. Thanks.
