Description
This is a Japanese type 95 military telegraph set from WWII. The Type 95 Morse Transmitting Apparatus was developed by OKI Electric Industry Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan in 1935, which is the 2595th year of the traditional Japanese calendar. "Type 95" derives from this date. According to The National Museum of Telecommunications of Japan the set is very rare nowadays because all military used machines had to be broken at the end of the war by army order. The OKI company offered to purchase this set from me in 1994, so the reserve price in this auction was calculated based on their offer. The set is untested but appears to be complete and it includes one of the three original batteries. The set is believed have been designed to operate with the type 92 field telephone which also has morse capability. Two of these field telephones are in my collection and are advertised for sale separately. The vacuum tube in this set is not the original but rather a Raytheon type 32. Please see my other auction (item # 120333677821) for the original vacuum tube from this set, a very rare type UX-111B made by Best Vacuum Tubes of Yasuda Lamp Works, Tokyo, sometime before 1935. Additional photos and information are available on request. I will ship internationally and am happy to discuss shipping, packing, and insurance options. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time upon receipt of a satisfactory offer.
