It consists of 6 amber oval bevelled glass pieces around the sides held in place with hundreds of tiny prongs The top of the box has bevelled glass in a half round frame which opens the box and the back of the top consists of 4 figures as part of the design. Box is a huge one for this style - it is 8" in diameter and 5" tall. It is in excellent condition with no damage to the glass or metal. These boxes were made in NY in the 30's to 50's by companies like GLOBE or STYLECRAFT or MATSON. This one has no markings. Rare and hard to find piece that would enhance any collection. I have not attempted to wash or clean this -  It does not look like it was used very much.
