An original, working Emerson BD-197...the MAE WEST. I've owned it for 15 years, but find it is time to sell and let another lucky person be the proud owner...just in time for the holidays!.The radio:  A couple weeks ago when I took the pictures, I spent 45 minutes or so listening to stations from all over the world. I did not extend the original antenna wire, but held it in my hand for the incredible reception for a radio 70 years old. The knobs all turn freely as they should...dial light works. It has 2 indicator lights (red & green) that highlight which band you are listening to..both working. The plastic dial cover is perfect as is the conical dial itself. Now the drawbacks...the speaker grill needs to be replaced and the radio needs to be refinished. The wood is tight and solid, original finish. The speaker grill "cone" is not perfectly symmetrical from a period of storage sometime in the last 70 years. I have tried to show the imperfection in one of the shots, but it may or not be obvious (it's there, but not really overly obvious anyway). The back is there...stamped BD197 as well as the Ingraham label. Chassis is clean (some dust) with no rust.I will double box and pack carefully.
