Description
Extremely RARE Huge Paddle Club This is a Paddle Club that I received from Dr. Tom Dziewa 9 years ago. Tom was a noted Paleontologist and an avid collector of Ancient American Artifacts. More so, he was a longtime friend. Tom passed away a few years after I received this Paddle Club as partial payment for money I had lent him. He bought this beautiful Paddle Club in 1990. The letter that accompanied it was included along with the book: Indian and Eskimo Artifacts of North America, by Charles Miles, published over 40 years ago (the book itself has substancial value as it is now out of print and used by the museums and universities that are lucky enough to have a copy as a reference). This book describes the paddle club as shown. Also included are two books by Monty Hawthorne's niece about Monty's life. These are: The Trail Led North & Alaska Silver, by Martha Ferguson McKeowen (Monty's niece). Also included is an issue of Prehistoric Antiquities Volume XXI, No. 3 from 2001 that shows an ad for this very Paddle Club. I am asking $15,000 for this exquisite specimen. But will consider offers. Monty Hawthorne (1865-1951)collected this specimen in a time frame from 1898 through about 1909. It is believed to come from the Columbia River area of what is now Washington State, but the exact location is unknown. Monty collected many specimens of American Artifacts and this was the best of the entire collection. When Monty died in 1951 his artifacts went to his son who sold some, including this Paddle Club to Bob Ashland who after a time sold this Wonderful Specimen to Dr. Dziewa in 1990. Dr. Dziewa then transferred ownership to me. When you purchase this excellent Paddle Club, you receive the stand, the books: Indian and Eskimo Artifacts of North America, The Trail Led North & Alaska Silver. You will receive the Prehistoric Antiquities Quarterly-Volume XXI-No.3 that depicts this Paddle Club. Also included is the letter to Dr. Tom Dziewa from Bob Ashland, dated 1990. Please note that this Rare Paddle Club is a Brown gray color. Some of the pics make it appear more of a gold yellow color than it really is. The second and sixth pic are more accurate as to color. This Rare paddle club will be extremely well packed and fully insured and shipped Priority Mail for fast safe arrival. All for FREE at no additional charge. Thank you.
