It's made of metal and painted black. It comes apart into 2 sections. There are 2 original Decals on it.The swivel ball is also there..HAS PATENT DATE AUG.1905. it has not been repainted.  Light visible rust but the . It is very solid. . I have had very good results in the past having these horns painted by an auto body specialist.But it is up to you it is not that bad that it would have to be .some people like the original . .
