MILKING COW MECHANICAL BANK, EX PAINT, INCOMPLETE' Description ORIGINAL old Milking Cow cast iron mechanical bank. This bank was made by the J. & E. Stevens Toy Co. of Cromwell, Conn. The bank was designed by Charles A. Bailey the great master designer of mechanical banks. The bank measures 9 7/8" long by 3 1/4" wide by 5" tall.The example that we are offering here has several condition problems. Some of the parts are missing & the bank is broken. The fence & the two small support rings that held on the fence are missing. The black man with the milk bucket who would have been sitting down milking the cow is missing. The support that would have held on the black man figure has two small chips missing off of it. The back left leg on the base was broken off of the base & the leg is missing. Approximately 2/3 of the activating lever which which would cause the action to take place is missing. The lever spring is missing.A positive point is that the mechanism inside of the cow is in working condition. A major positive point is that the kicking leg & the tail are both original. Another major positive point is that all of the paint that is present on the bank is entirely original. The bank still has lots of its original paint present. The original paint present is in excellent condition. We have left the bank just as we found it with a light coating of dirt still on it which could easily be cleaned off. The pics clearly show the exact original, but incomplete & damaged condition, that this original Milking Cow bank is currently in.Included with this ORIGINAL Milking Cow mechanical bank is an old Book of Knowledge REPRODUCTION Milking Cow mechanical bank which has RECASTS of all of the parts that the original is missing. The BOK bank has a paper clip replacement of the rivet that should hold on the black man at his feet & the tail of the cow is missing. The BOK bank is 9 1/2" long.Please note that we are basically selling the original in this offering & throwing in the BOK bank at no additional charge with the purchase of the original. So, if someone wanted to complete the original with some recast parts from the BOK bank the option exists for them in the package of the two banks that we are offering.
