Mikusa dual-steel 8192 layer folded blade katana - Differentially clay tempered - Standard blade 28.0 with Bohi, Handle 11 inchesThe Mikusa family of blades are similar to the Yashima family.  This is a Keicho Shinto style blade with an aggressive sori.  Here is a quick fighter with a light feel.  This blade is torizori with full niku, a striking masame hada (straight grain) in this folded blade, a dramatic taper from machi to yokote, and a longer chu kissaki.  This blade will combine the cutting ability of the Last Legends pro cutter series with the agility of their battle series.  A well-rounded, all-use, battle-ready sword! All models have a natural horn throat cap. Comes with a green-silk embroidered and fully lined sword bag. Tsuba design - It depicts the final battle, fought about 1188, of the Gempei War. The Mikusa tsuba is a copy of the old original tsuba.  Rayskin and black-laquered saya.PERSONAL NOTE: While I love this sword, I have NEVER used it for a cutting exercise as I felt the hamon was too beautiful to ever consider marring or dulling over time.  I used a Hanwei pro-cutter for most of my practice needs.  So, you get this blade NOW as opposed to having to wait months and months to get one built to your specifications.
