Description
*Please read full description before placing your bid* Offered for your consideration is an Art Deco Emerson model #564 "Slot Grill" Richly Marbleized Brazilian Onyx Green with Maroon Catalin Tube Radio made circa 1940. This radio displays extremely well showing it's gorgeous color and swirling. This example is in great condition exhibiting no cracks, chips, nicks, dings, repairs, or major scratches. Be sure to check out all pictures of this example as I am sure that you will agree it is spectacular. The radio retains it's factory original maroon catalin knobs, grill cloth, and cardboard back panel. I have hand refinished (no machine sanding) the cabinet and removed 60+ years of dirt, grime, and oxidation, now displaying the true color and beauty!!! Please be sure to check out my other auctions as there is something for everyone in every price range and many are offered at no reserve including several other Catalins and some great art deco Bakelites and contact me any questions. If you are looking for a unique gift that is also a smart collectible, consider this beautiful vintage vacuum tube radio! See full condition report below. BID WITH CONFIDENCE, BECAUSE YOUR SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED! COMMENT- Please read the entire description and view the pictures. This will help you fully understand the item you are bidding on. MAKE- Emerson MODEL- 564, "Slot Grille" YEAR- 1940 CASE MATERIAL- Catalin "The Gem of Plastics" SIZE- 7” W x 5 1/8 ” H x 3 13/16” D CONDITION- This radio is in excellent condition containing no cracks, chips, nicks, dings, deep scratches, or tube burns, now or in the past. The knobs, grill cloth, and chassis are factory original. No cosmetic restoration/repair was necessary. CHASSIS/PLAYING CONDITION-The chassis is clean, complete but I was unable to pick up any stations clearly. The dial light works fine illuminating the vertical dial. Electronic restoration is available at an additional cost (by estimate). As a reminder, these vintage catalin radios are not recommended for everyday use, nor should they be played for extended periods of time as that could cause tube burns to the cabinet.
