Description
Brady's signature is almost unknown -- Most autograph dealers have NEVER even Seen one document or letter with Brady's signature -- this is a MAJOR Rarity and perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity -- Mathew B. Brady (1822 - January 15, 1896) was one of the most celebrated 19th century American photographers, best known for his portraits of celebrities and the documentation of the American Civil War. He is credited with being the father of photojournalism -- This is an utterly Fantastic document -- March 6, 1872 -- where Brady actually sues Jay Gould for payment for a photograph!!!! This is almost laughable as Gould was one of the most prominent and wealthy persons in the World and was in charge of the Notorious Erie Railway -- In Fact - Gould was soon to become one of the most powerful men in the World and he would soon control the nation's Railroad System -- Telegraph System -- New York Elevated Railroads -- along with cornering the United States Gold Supply etc etc -- Gould must have been unhappy and Brady must have refused to redo his photos -- as gould could certainly afford to pay his bill -- to see the photo clearer -- please cut and paste this address -- http://cigarboxlabels.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=25201 -- the photos on my webpage can be clicked on and then clicked on again and they will get very large so that you can see all of the detail ---- All of my auctions are guaranteed original and authentic forever!!! -- please email me with any questions -- ALSO Please check my other auctions as i will be listing many wonderful and rare Museum quality pieces in the next week and for the next year or so --- thanks david beach
