This is a perfect example of a true bastard sword; the blade is the length of a one handed sword while the grip is elongated so that a second hand can be brought into play for two hand blows and the overall size allows for easy one-hand use. Up for auction we have one fully functional, battle ready "Italian Bastard Sword" by Windlass Steelcrafts in excellent condition.  Auction includes leather scabbard with blackened steel furniture.  This beautiful, hand and a half sword has never been used for cutting anything.  Sword was sharpened by the manufacturer and it is lethal sharp.  Overall length is 41.5 inches.  High carbon, blackened steel blade measures 34 inches.  Blade is in perfect condition with no rust, staining or pitting.  Only flaw on this sword is a little bit of paint loss on the hand guard where it meets the steel throat on the scabbard.  No way to prevent that!  This blade has been waxed for protection.  I use Renaissance wax on all my European style blades to keep them in tip top shape.  Wooden handle is wrapped in wire and covered in black leather, is absoutely perfect.  If Darth Vader had to choose a steel sword, I think this is the one he'd pick.  Sword feels light and handles exceptionally well with one hand or two.  This is one of the better Windlass swords, and everything is very tight and put together very attractively.  This is one of the nicest looking swords ever produced by Windlass Steelcrafts and certainly makes for a great display piece.  I hate to part with it but I will have a new addition to my family soon so I have to start clearing out things both for making room and the sake of safety.  This sword has been discontinued and is no longer available from the manufacturer.  I originally paid $283.00 for this sword with the sharpening service but I'm starting this auction off at a fraction of that amount - $198.00 with no reserve!  That's about 30% off the MSRP.   Payment is expected within five days of auction close.  Shipping will run $20.00 to ship to the lower 48.  Everywhere else, please email for quote.  Sword will be expertly packaged and shipped promptly upon receipt of payment.  I do offer combined shipping for buyers who win more than one item.  IMPORTANT!  Seller assumes no liability for any damage or injury caused by the use or misuse of this item.  By bidding on this item, you certify that you are at least 18 years of age and that it is legal for you to possess this weapon where you reside.  All sales on weapons are final - no returns.  If you have any questions, please ask them prior to bidding.  Thanks and good luck!                  Place a Bid!
