Description
As seen on Led Zeppelin's Official Website. Here is the link: http://www.ledzeppelin.com/image-galleries/photos-home/memorabilia/vintage-swag I purchased this Led Zeppelin jersey from the Dick Clark auction a few years ago in New York. It is an amazing piece of musical history and all provenance will be provided. Here is what Dick Clark had to say about it. "Led Zeppelin released their double-LP Physical Graffiti in 1975 to both critical and popular acclaim. Physical Graffiti would hit number one on both sides of the Atlantic and a large-scale American tour was planned to support the album. Guitarist Jimmy Page wore this red, white and blue hockey jersey on the last night of Led Zeppelin's 1975 tour. Stitched in white cursive across the back is "Jerry Weintraub-Concerts West Presents," and in large sewn-on block letters "Led Zeppelin American Tour 1975". The name Jimmy is stitched on a patch on the right sleeve. The jersey is mounted on a white background in a silver-toned frame. Black lacquer engraved plaque on the outside reads, "Shirt worn by Jimmy Page on the Last Night of Led Zepplin's 1975 Concert Tour". Jersey: excellent condition. Slight discoloration in the bottom right corner of white linen matte. Frame 38 x 38 "Half a century has passed since the original Bandstand. I think back over the years and I realize I have become a true pack rat. I also reflect on all the great musicians with whom I have had an opportunity to work. Who would believe that Rock and Roll would still be with us and have such an impact on our lives. Maybe somewhere along the line I dreamed of putting together some kind of museum, but then I realized I've always been a collector. Whenever anybody gave me a memento or I asked for one, I would treasure it. Now with the auction of my collection at hand, I'm really excited to have a chance to turn over something that has belonged to me, so that someone else can enjoy it. A most worthy organization involved in important medical research, the TJ Martell Foundation, will benefit from the auction. Rock and roll is here to stay." Dick Clark Please feel free to ask questions. I will do my utmost to provide all information I have on this item. This came from one of music's biggest advocates and I hope for this to go to an appreciative home. If wishing to use Paypal please contact me at end of auction. Thank you
