Their are 4 knives, and all are 3 blade whittlers, with beautiful narlly stag handles. The knives are all Mint, never used or carried. This set was made in Solingen, Germany. They only made 1500 set like this, in between 1970-80. This set is number 0542 out of 1500, great Christmas gift. The stamp on blades are on one side only, front. The stamps are two kissing cranes, with Solingen, Germany. On the main blade of all knives is stamped, Limited Edition, with little eagle. The first knife it is etched on main blade with, "Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, with his picture, and 1 of 1500 and fancy scroll markings. It measures 4 9/16" long with three blades, excellent snap. It has two back springs, for two end blades, the main blade is twice as wide, and uses both springs, very strong. It also has USA shield, and nickel silver bolsters and linings. One bolster on all knives is stamped with 0542, and all knives have pinced bolsters. Very nice set of knives. The second knife is "Billy Yank, 1 of 1500", etched on blade. It is a 4" long whittler, all same marking, with USA shield too. The third knife is 4 9/16" whittler, etched "Gen. Robert E. Lee, 1 of 1500, three blades, all excellent snap. This knife has CSA shield, for Confederate States of America. Fourth knife is 4" long whittler, etched Johnny Reb, 1 of 1500, with CSA shield.
