DIAMETER: About 3/4 to 1 inch.  One measured close to 1-1/4 on the larger end.  LENGTH: 14 to 17 inches. TOTAL BONES:  Each column of vertebrae contains about 45 bones.  I counted one at 42 - several around 55 - I will say the average is 45 to be safe. These have been cleaned and bleached - but not to the point of being brittle and loose.  They are fairly rigid and solid - don't whack the table with them, but they are held together well. Great for classroom study, a nice, unusual general biology, anatomy and physiology, zoology, or ichthyology item. They would take a little craftsmanship I'm sure (and maybe a rod down a drilled core, or outer resin shell?) - but I imagine these making very unusual and beautiful handles for knives, sections in walking canes, etc.  1 lot = 10 columns of about 45 "fused" pcs. each. I will be listing a variety of unusual freeze-dried specimens and displays, corals, and insect specimens - so please check my other items. Great items for studying skeletal morphology - anatomy and physiology - compare to humerus, radius, ulna, scapula, other vertebra, jaw, or cranium - great for museum displays, incredible awesome and way cool exhibit.
